Today, we celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the apparitions of the Queen of Peace.  Our Lady has been coming to us, speaking to us and leading us to her Son is a very special way.  As Fr. Slavko always said, “We are in the school of Mary”.

In reflecting on 30 years, we can ask ourselves many questions.  What have we learned in 30 years?  Have I conformed myself to Our Lady’s messages?  Am I living my Catholic faith more faithfully and more fervently?

It only took 12 men, 12 Apostles of Jesus Christ to change the world.  His message went out to all the world.  How many millions of people have climbed the apparition hill?  How many throughout the world have read the story of Medugorje and read Our Lady’s monthly messages?  Yet, most of us are just going along in our lives with no change.

Our Lady’s messages and her coming to us are part of the New Evangelization called for by both Blessed John Paul II and Pope Benedict XVI.  The first apparition 30 years ago, actually occurred on June 24th, the Feast of the Birth of St. John the Baptist.  Our Lady is telling us that she is the new John the Baptist, preparing the world to welcome her Son, not for the end of the world, but for a new spiritual awakening.  Jesus wishes to return in the hearts of His people, He wants to bring all people home to the Sacramental life.

As we await Our Lady’s 30th Anniversary message, let us recommit ourselves to the transforming power of Jesus Christ, her Son through a renewal of our total consecration to Christ through the Immaculate Heart of Mary.  If you have never made a total consecration to Jesus, through Mary, there is no better time than now.  You can find everything necessary to prepare for Total Consecration here.
